We are very happy to be welcoming French yarn brand Biches et Buches to our store.
Created by a Scandanavian woman (Astrid) living in Burgandy, France this brand uses pure lambswool from Scotland as the base of their signature yarns. Lambswool is both soft and rustic and the colours are always subtle and have slight marling through them.
The lambswool comes in 3 weights, Le Gros (bulky, 192m/100g), Le Lambawool (dk, 170m/50g) and Le Petite (fingering, 248m/50g).
Le Lambswool knits up on 4mm needles at 21 stitches per 10cm. This is the same gauge as many patterns that hold a strand of fingering weight yarn with a strand of silk mohair. Making this a fun substitution for patterns like PetiteKnit's Monday Sweater, Stockholm Sweater and April Cardigan. You may just need to do a little yarn math to ensure you purchase enough balls.
We also carry Le Petite Silk Mohair which is a blend of 30% mulberry silk and 70% super kid mohair from Italy.
